Default Another insurance question

Yes, I know another insurance question . I want to buy some and have gone to insure my trip but I’m not seeing what I’m looking for. The main reason I want insurance is because were leaving Chicago Dec 13th and in the Midwest it’s not to early for a blizzard. I just want to be covered if my flight is cancelled. We are flying in a day early to play it safe but I’m still a little nervous about the weather. I know they have trip interruption but how would it work if we miss the ship on the 14th and our first port is on the 16th? What’s the point of getting on the ship that late in the cruise. The cancel for any reason you have to cancel a few days before the cruise. After reading Kuki’s article on trip insurance, I will have some type of insurance policy by the end of this week. I’m thinking I’m not reading it right. Any advise or ideas would be much appreciated.

If you compare policies on Insuremytrip you can click on the dollar amount for "Trip Cancellation" and it will explain what constitutes a cancellation. Most policies will cover your return home if you miss the ship.

Take care,
Mike

If you can, consider the possibility of flying to the port city a day early and staying in a motel/hotel overnight. That way, you can be all relaxed and in vacation mode the day the ship sails.

Were getting in to Tampa on Sunday and leave Monday so that makes me feel a little safer. I have really been looking foward to my getaway with just us girls and want all to go smooth. Chicago weather has been crazy the past few winters so I'm hoping for no snow until Christmas or later. We decided to fly out of Midway airport on Southwest airlines. Midway seems to have more on time flights then Ohare airport. I live 5 min from Ohare and 30 min from Midway. I think Midway is a safer bet. I'm so excited I can't wait much longer!!
