Default Deep Sea Fishing in Samana

DH and I want to go deep sea fishing in Samana but got to thinking...if you DO catch the big one...what do you do with it?

Is this a reasonable question to be asking?

Thanks in advance

Barb

Barb, any question is reasonable....You could catch and release, of course after many pictures are taken of the big one that didn't get away, or, offer the catch to your hosts of the fishing boat....good luck......!

It depends on the charter: Some charters are catch and release, there are some that the boat owns all fish caught. (Very common on Kauai) and there are others where you can keep your catch.

If you keep your catch you will have to make arrangements with the charter to have it butchered and flown home to you. You cannot bring it back on the ship.

If you do catch "The Big One" you can have a reproduction made. I caught a, twelve foot, Pacific Blue Marlin while fishing in Hawaii and had a reproduction made of it. It hangs in my family room. My wife is always trying to get me to put it in the basement but after fighting that thing for over an hour he will hang on the wall until I'm gone.

Take care,
Mike
