Smile Dining Options - Med cruise

I've booked two consecutive 12n Med cruises on Nieuw Amsterdam for May/June 2011.

I'm looking for the best dining option from early (6pm), late (8pm) or 'Eat as You Wish'.

My wife and I are travelling by ourselves and not in a group.

I thought late may be best because the port days are probably long and tiring so we would have a chance to rest before dinner but wondered if that would mean we would miss the nightly entertainment.

I don't mind 'Eat as You Wish' but then felt well then we would not really meet other people and just be eating by ourselves each night.

Part of a cruise is to meet others and enjoy the company of others to my mind.

Any suggestions on the options?

Tony,

My suggestion would be to select Late Dining. The shows are scheduled to accomodate both sittings. With a port intensive cruise I always want late seating because I too want to spend time onshore without rushing back to the ship. I also like to have some time to "decompress" before dinner.

I do like open seating or "As You Wish" dining. There are plenty of other opportunities to meet people in other situations and it's always nice to be able to ask someone to join you for dinner.

I hope this helps,
Mike

As you wish will allow you to eat early if you want, late if you are busy, and lets you choose with whom you want to eat each night. I think it is the Panglossian solution.
