Default Another question?

Those printable luggage tags!!! It looks like, to me, they will not hold up long enough to get on the ship. I made mine out of card stock. Any ideas from someone out there? There has to be better ways to make them.

Karen,

The best way to do them is to print them on standard paper, fold as directed and then "laminate" them with clear packing tape. Just lay a piece of tape over the top and the bottom so they stick together and then trim off the excess tape from the edges. Then take a paper punch and punch a hole in each end, fold over and attach to your luggage with a cable tie.

It's as strong or stronger than the regular tags and only takes a couple of minutes to do. You can also use a three hole punch but the tags may be a bit too thick for some of them.

Take care,
Mike

Thanks Mike! My thoughts were on clear packing tape but didn't know if they would hold up any better. I'll be sure to try it.

Karen,

I've done this for three cruises and they've never come close to tearing or coming off. Just make sure that the hole you punch is not too close to the edge.

Take care,
Mike

You can also try clear "Mac Tac" or whatever they call it in your part of the country...that peel and stick stuff you can use to decorate if it has a pattern, but it's also great to laminate with the clear one. I use it for all sorts of things....

Mike and Lisa,

Thanks for the great idea about using packing tape for those luggage tags. I am going to use that idea next cruise.

A friend forwarded me this info from another thread - get plastic vertical badge holders with 2 holes in the top (need to trim the tag to size) and cable ties to attach to your luggage. You can get the badge holders from an office supply store and the cable ties from your local hardware store.

The badges come in 10-12 per package and are reusable and the ties in 25 or more. Works for me.
