Sand wheelchairs

I posted this question in the wrong thread...oooppps!

Hi! I have a question...does anyone know if I will be able to rent a sand wheelchair? I've seen them at beaches where I have vacationed but never did use one. I have trouble walking on sand. I will be on the Carnival Miracle in August.

Usually, these sand wheelchairs are found on the cruiselines private islands. I honestly don't think, you will find these options on your itinerary...give your travel agent a call, and see if they can do some investigating for you, in regards to the beaches in your ports of call.

i totally agree with Trip on this one, i think you would be very hard pressed to find a local beach unless it is a hotel/resort type beach that would have the sand wheelchairs, as Trip said give your travel agent a call and have them do some investigating for you.

I did ask the travel agent about it, she said she would make a few phone calls for me but hasn't gotten back to me yet. Yes I wanted it for the private island I think that will be the only port I'll be going to the beach. Should I ask at the excursion desk when I board or try to make arrangements before?

When we were on Grand Turk last fall, we didn't see these, and the other private island, is Half Moon Cay...its been a while since I was there, and they didn't offer them then, although things could have changed, but of course, these 2 options are not on your itinerary;(

RCI had them, and really, that's the only time I have seen them, on their private islands....the ta, hopefully will find you some info..I wish you a happy cruise!

Hi everyone!
Just came back from our cruise yesterday! What a great time! The sand wheelchair situation. Yes they did have them on Half Moon Cay. There were about 3 there, right next to the info booth. They said you can just use it. I didn't need one on the other islands so I didn't look for it. Hope this bit of info helps others.
