Default RCCL Soda Packages-Refillable Cup

Hi!

I have a question about the cups. We were on a RC cruise last summer and purchased the soda package which gives you the cups. We are scheduled for another one this summer. My question is rather than start a collection of these, can I just bring back my old cups as opposed to getting new ones or is it like the refillable mugs at theme parks where each year is different? Thanks for any input!

You can bring back the same one but a new one comes with the purchase of the soda package. They don't go by color or style of mug, they look at your Sea Pass card for the Soda Package Sticker currently being used. We only used our mug(s) around the pool as we prefered our cokes in a glass. I hope this helps.

Depending on which ship you sail, Royal is testing a soda program where the cup they give you has a built in microchip. They have soda machines at several locations on the ship. You put your cup at the machine, it reads the microchip and soda is dispensed. Disney World has used this system for years. So to answer your question; just get the new cup.

its just easier to get the new cups, one less thing to pack. Depending upon the cup we usually just leave it for our cabin steward to throw away at the end of our cruise
