Question SHARING CABINS Legal obligation of both parties.

CABIN MATES

I THINK THIS SHARING A CABIN IS WONDERFUL HOWEVER

When we find a person to share with what is the legal obligation of both parties.

For instant if we decide that were a good fit and now we need to purchase the tickets,
1. How is it we can protect ourselves from a scam..

2. Is there a way we can purchase the tickets by sending each our portion to the agency that is selling these tickets?
Also will we both receive our itinerary at separate addresses?

Third what if one of the people decides they canít make it on the trip what happens to the other who can still go?

And last but least what are other scams we can recognize and what is the best way to arrange a cabinmate agreement?

Sincerely
Newbie

You could always cruise on Norwegian Epic; this new ship has single cabins; these cabins has a singles lounge; so you may want to look at that option.

Yes, you should purchase through a third party Travel Agent and only pay your portion.

I doubt any of the big internet groups would deal with it. Too impersonal and won't do the the little things that that type of booking would require.

I understand your concern. I joined cruisemates to try to find a cabinmate and the only responses I received were from people overseas ( who are probably legit lovely people) but since this is my first time using this forum I felt too uneasy. I would like to meet the person I'm going to share a sardine can with lol. So I'm going alone until I can talk to more folks who have had success finding cabinmates this way. And your right about the "how do we pay for this" But all that aside, I've gotten alot of great information from you guys so thank you for that.

Skype is a good way of conversing with people who are not located geographically close to you.
