Default Children ID

I have three kids going with me on a cruise. However they all have passports but they are all to young to have driver's ids. However when leaving the ship for shore leave and wish not to carry the kids passport around what other ID's is acceptable?

I know in the State I live in, you can get state ID's, just like a drivers license, but not for driving...You can check and see if your state issues anything like that.

The general rule is people under the age of 16 are not required to have a photo ID for the port visits.

We got Passport Cards for our kids. They were only 10 dollars, and if something were to happen while in port they would be of more help than a state issued ID.

i agree with Donna that the passport cards are a good idea, another option might be to have a photocopy of their passports.
