Default Ginger capsules

Earlier this evening I was discussing my upcoming cruise with a friend taking the same cruise .He said that whenever he cruises he takes Ginger Pills or capsules to not get seasick . I never heard of this and I am wondering if anyone takes them .

A quick google of "ginger sea sickness" turns up a lot of results that seem to make me think there is something to it. Looks like even the Mythbusters took a swing at it and it showed some promise.

It is true that ginger does help sea sickness, so I would think this would as well.

Henry- real ginger in any form is a great preventative especially for the mild queezies. For me personally real gingerale does it for me, but ginger candy, ginger cookies, all work very well. If i recall there is something about ginger capsules and heart medications that don't go together, not quite sure on that one, ask your pharmacist. Its a preventative, doesn't work all that well for an episode of seasickness, settles the stomach a bit thats all.
