Default upgrading onboard

We are taking an eleven day cruise on Costa Pacifica in April and as it was such a good deal we booked an interior cabin.i have been on over20 cruises and have always had a balcony cabin except for a couple of short cruises when I had o/view.So in case we are not happy with cabin on boarding can anyone help us with information on upgrades. If there are o/view or Balcony cabins still vacant when we board how expensive is it to upgrade or would it be cheaper to do this before we leave

The best thing is to book the cabin you will be happy about rather than worrying later.

Upgrading on board is rarely an option. The cruise lines try to sail full and if there is something available the price is usually quite high. Almost always they will have a sign out that says: "No Cabins Available".

Your best bet is to ask BEFORE you start your check-in. Ask for the Pier Coordinator and see if there are any cabins available. 8 out of 10 times there will either be no Pier Coordinator and/or no cabins available.

No matter what: It never hurts to ask.

Take care,
Mike

i totally agree with Mike on this one, most cruise lines sail full, if you don't think that you will be happy with your cabin choice make the change now while there still may be cabins available
