Default rough seas out of L.A.

I few years ago hubby and I cruised to Hawaii out of L.A. I took the advice from people on here about taking dramamine before we left home and was very happy we did. The seas the first day were rough. My question is we are leaving for a cruise in less than 2 weeks for the Mexian Riviera and was wondering if the seas are rough going south? Do we need to take dramamine this time or not?

I've sailed the Mexican Riviera twice in the last three years and both times the seas were relatively calm.

Last February the seas were a bit rough (5 - 7') for the first night out of San Diego but as we went south the seas became very calm.

It all depends on what storms may be in the Pacific and it really is impossible to predict. This time of the year there are (Usually) less storms so the seas are more calm.

Have a great cruise and take your Dramamine or Bodine. Just in case.

I've found cruises out of LA get that one day of choppy seas. Not so much so with San Diego departures.
