I was reading the "Ask CruiseMates Staff" and the ad above was for Cruisecritic which I thought was considered a "competiter" ?
Personally, I look at both site's for different things, but I was very surprised to see this ad!
When I joined CM in 2009 and decided to do a countdown clock I did one from Cruise Critic and I was vehemently apprised that it was a no -no .I only did that because it was the only one I was able to figure out how to do at the time.

Future Cruises: Carnival Triumph-Caribbean-7/28/2014, Carnival Legend-South Pacific-8/30/2014, MSC Preziosa-Mediterranean-10/25/2014, MSC Fantasia-Mediterranean-11/2/2014, Navigator of the Seas-12/14/2013, Norwegian Jewel-1/3/2015, Emerald Princess-1/11/2015, Carnival Freedom-2/2/2015, Carnival Freedom-2/15/2015.
Yep: A Google Ad. We have little or no control over these ads. The ads are chosen for content. We are a cruise site so we get "cruise related advertising".
My firewall filters all Google Ads before they hit my browser so I don't see them. I also can't post on most Blog sites because of it. This is a PIA but the benefits of this firewall outweigh these issues so I haven't pulled the firewall.

Trip, I understand the ad's for the cuise lines. If you're looking at a Celebrity cruise board, you'll probably get Celebrity cruise ad's (then, again, you may get a Princess ad!). I just thought it was weird to have the "competing" cruise talk website show up here as an ad !
