Do you ever park your car at a cruiseport for the duration of your cruise ?
Its $19 per day where we will be cruising from to leave the car in an outdoor lot for 13 days.
The other option is to get somebody to take us to the cruiseport but we would have to take a taxi going home. The taxi service wants $130 + tolls +tip which would be about $170.

Although the port in FLL has covered parking, Park N Fly at the airport is a lot cheaper and provide shuttle service to and from the port (at least last i knew of)
the parking at the MIA port is a real deal if you are handicapped... IT's FREE! it is a covered garage and regularly patrolled. Otherwise it's $20/day like the others.

We are going to NJ from NY

Several years ago, we has a travel show on Sunday mornings..they had great contests, and, I won twice...the best prize was, an overnight stay at a Sheraton, at Logan Airport, with free parking while we cruised....
I am usually able now, to get a ride to and from...but, we have parked at the park and fly, not as pricey as NYC.

Parking at the cruise port is a ridiculous price,IMHO. I can see $20 per day if you're cruising for 3 or 4 nights but why don't they have a weekly rate? And a 2 week rate? The longer you park, the better rate you should get.
Anyhow Henry, we are taking the same cruise as you only we're going at the end of Jan. and we have a 10 or 11 hour drive whereas I think you are looking at maybe 2 or 3 hours? Assuming the cruiseport parking is still $19 per night that would cost us $228. We like to arrive the day before (just in case we run into weather problems) so we have booked the Wyndham Garden hotel for $145 which includes 12 nights parking and brekky. The cab fare to the port will be about $80 round trip so we'll pretty well break even. And I'll feel a lot more comfortable not driving from the hotel to the port-we'll be lucky just to find Newark Airport We have never been to N.J. OR N.Y. Maybe I need a GPS

It would be nice to have your auto detailed interior/exterior including engine with pick-up and drop off at the port for the same price as parking alone.
