We are cruising in 3 months .We received a letter from our TA advising that effective Dec.19 she is changing agencies. She did not say anything about our cruise .Generally in cases like this does the TA still keep clients or do the clients continue with the agency the TA was previously working with ?
If she "works" for the original Travel Agency the cruise was booked at, the "owner" of the Travel Agency would have to agree to allow her to transfer the booking to the new agency which would have a different CLIA #, IATA #, and Agency # used to book travel with.
If they owner of the original agency does not allow her to move the booking over, you will probably begin working with another agent within the original Travel Agencies office.
I would call the current agency and ask to speak to the owner to advise her what your TA has told you..... Your TA may be trying to take her client base with her and that can be a slippery slope to be on as the original agency will be losing potential income and the owner would not be pleased that she may or may not be calling other clients w/out their permission.
Keep us posted as the details are sketchy at best and I don't want to make false accusations about your TA's business morals..... w/out more specific details.

This happened to me, many years ago. The account stayed with the agency. Since I was never happy with the service I got after she left, I canceled the cruise, and found an agent I met on a tour of a ship in Boston, and started anew, booking with him.

I don't know the answer, but I am very curious to see how that turns out.

This is a new question here, never have heard of this happening, but I am sure it does from time to time. Please, keep us posted, hopefully everything will go smoothly.
We use a TA, who we book with is irrelevant really it's just who picks up the phone. We did have one person we used in particular but he left, we didn't know he had left until we had a query about a year later, it made no difference to our cruise that he left.

as a former TA i can weigh in on this one. Its totally your call as to what you choose to do. Your TA is just informing you of the move he/she is not soliciting your business. If you really like your current TA you can transfer your booking to the new agency, its your choice. If it doesn't matter to you then just keep your cruise booking with the current agency

We are both cruising on March 17 .Your cruise clock states 97 days but my calculation is 99 days .
