I booked a cruise 5 months ago and told the TA specifically whom I wanted to be seated with .She assured me a few days ago that I will be at the table .However I was advised today by the cruise line that the TA has not given in the dining preferences for any of her clients as of yet .The cruise leaves next month .Is it likely that I may have a problem ?
Henry, It is always possible, as they ask, it is a preference, doesn't ever mean you will get that from the beginning. Lets hope your T/A puts in for your dinning ASAP.
You really don't know until you arrive at the ship, hope it all goes well and to your liking. I am sure you will let us know.
Henry... when you and your friends booked your agent should have cross referenced everyone's booking #s for dining.
You should contact them now, and ask why it wasn't done. With the cruise only a month out, you could find yourselves with no designated dining assignments, and be designated to "any time dining".
We have a 6PM dining and everyone in the group has been told by the TA that we are all seated together but she has not given this info to the cruiseline yet .
I'm curious as to how you got this info...usually booking with a ta, negates the cruise line talking with you at all about your booking,...I have to say I would not be happy with the ta...good luck!

I always book with a TA and always call the cruise line for confirmation .
In this case I was concerned because I advised the TA of certain needs for health issues and I wanted to make sure that they were addressed.
I am not understanding this, if the T/A hasn't told the cruiseline your preference, how can she possibly say you are all seated together??
When I called the TA I said I wanted to be seated with ........When I called back 2 days ago she said yes you will be seated with .......
When I called the cruise line re this and 2 other matters I was told that the TA requested the 2 related to medical issues but as of yesterday she has not yet given her table seating requests for any of her clients .
Just to clarify ,she is not my personal TA ,she represents the group I am traveling with and I hope to hear from her later today.
So, it is a "Group" reservation? If so then all bookings in the group are automatically linked. If you requested specific people then she will send the table assignments in but all bookings are "linked" or "cross-referenced".
Take care,
Mike

Its an organization of which 103 people are cruising with this TA . We are not a part of it but friends of ours are and we were allowed to join .However ,8 of the 103 + us want to sit at the same table .
As Mike says as a group they will be automatically linked. Actually many TA's wait until about 2 weeks out to submit their individual seating since the cruise line doesn't really get serious about it until the week prior. The tables will be set aside, but as to the individuals not necessarily done until very late. Also many times the TA doesn't want to play the "I want to set with Johnny or Mary" game and just lets the Cruise line do it within the tables set aside.
That being said, a good TA will do early, but most do not.
