We will use a wake up call if it is a port day and we have plans starting in the morning. Otherwise we just get up when we get up and on a cruise even I (who is not an early riser) will get up pretty early.

I have never stayed in anything but an inside cabin. When you cruise solo and have to pay a huge single supplement you get the cheapest room you can. It is amazing how dark it is when you turn off the light but I get used to it. I prefer to spend my time on deck or in one of the lounges than sitting in my room. To me, the cabin is only for the 3 S's ==== Stripping, Showering and Sleeping.
I've cruised with the " Get Out of the Cold" group 5 times. My last trip we did a 2nd cruise.
I'd love to have a suite with a butler and all the extravagances; however this is highly unlikely for me.
One of the group cruises I did alone, my travel agent sister and group host, found a small cabin that had 2 portholes. That was very nice and I did enjoy the view very much. I have an ocean view cabin reserved for my upcoming group cruise out of San Juan, Puerto Rico: Jan 19 - 26, 2013. I'm still hoping to find a Female roomy for this cruise. Share some time and activities but also be free to do as each wants.
I notice people say they sit in the lounges because they can't sit in the inside cabin, I hope they are not hogging seats in places where others wish to buy a coffee or a drink, but can't find a seat due to people sitting reading or other pursuits without buying anything.

Some answer questions...I also question answers
JTD 2010
Compared to places I've seen . Kamloops is still the best place to live
(my personal opinion)
I live in a city of 25,000 people .I've posted this before and some people did not believe me but there have been no reported crimes of violence in the 10 years I am living here . We do not have a police force .
We are 10 minutes from a beach community and 5 minutes from a beautiful park and an outdoor swimming pool .
There are no pool halls ,no bowling alleys ,no movie theaters .
We do have approximately 100 restaurants and many stores .
For me its a beautiful place to live especially in the spring and summer .
I was last in Kamloops in 1976 ,at the time I was living in New York City and Kamloops seemed to be a wonderful place to live .
Now, my suggestion if you have an inside cabin is to leave your TV tuned to the forward camera shot, and mute the TV. When the sun comes up, you'll (hopefully) wake up .

I understand what you are saying. I like to have a cabin with a balcony, and I enjoy having a drink in my balcony and gaze at moon and the stars and listen to the ocean, I go to bed.

....couldn't take it. NEED air, NEED windows! [/QUOTE]
Some of the larger ships have the inner wall of an inside cabin opening to the inner mall. Won't work for me...I need a window/sliding door that faces OUTSIDE.
The only time I don't like a window is flying...thats when I don't want to see the sky, clouds or birds. Weird I know...
