Crazy Email Questions I get
 

As the editor of this fine site I watch over an email address called "customer service." This address was originally set up to help people in using our forums, and for our advertisers who may need some technical information.

Since we do not sell anything here, even t-shirts, we don't have any "customers" per se, But the email address gets used ALL the time by people who seemingly know nothing about cruising. Now, that is not a crime, but it does make for some funny emails.

So, I am going to start sharing some of the odder ones with you here:

I am glad they decided to cancel - I hope they get the letter in time, because they sure didn't get this email!

Because we have done articles about Free cruise scams we often get email from people who think we are the ones who SENT OUT THE FREAKING POST CARDS.

We are not, we are the people who warned you to ignore them.

I think a lot of the staff get some of these but it's neat you're posting some from Customer Service.

The emails I get asking for a job on the ship or if I could arrange for them to have a special gift sent for their sailing are, to say the least, interesting.

I'm built a little like John Heald but I can't arrange that stuff.

The most unusual email I have received, other than being sent a picture of someone in a speedo by his pool, was a Cruisemate from Portugal, requesting my help, wth his Carnival reservation, for his Magic cruise. A couple of emails between us, and, a couple of calls to Carnival that I made for him, and, he was good to go..

That's funny, I didn't realize that you guys get them too, but it makes sense. Please post yours, too. I had a new one just today about a cruise from "Italy to Los Angeles?"

I guess cruise mates serves all the cruising industry's customers.

Over at cruisereviews I get lots of resumes from people seeking employment with 'my' cruise lines. While it may be understandable if the person is from a poor country and is looking for work as a brand new steward or waiter, I am a bit surprised at the number of resumes I receive from people who have graduated from various maritime schools and are licensed as new officers. It is also disturbing how much information they provide me. If I was a crook I could have taken advantage of many people. They send me copies of their passports, licenses, diplomas, ID cards, etc.

But the most popular topic is that I am apparently in charge of the parking lots at the Cape Liberty, NJ, cruise port. Not a month goes by without someone inquiring about 'our' prices and directions to 'our' parking facility.

The same happens with us and "free cruises" and last month it was some Princess catalog just because somehad mentioned it in our message boards people thought we were the ones sending it out. I must have gotten 15 requests to have one mailed to them.
