If I put a deposit down for a cruise with a travel agent and they move to another agency, what are my rights as a consumer to have it moved with my agent? The final payment has not been made yet. The other agency is claiming the booking is theirs. I booked by choosing my agent, not the agency. How should I go about this?
I agree with Trip, if you aren't within final payment and can get the same deal from the TA you like, you can cancel and rebook with him/her at their new agency.
The agency you first booked with owns your booking, but you should be able to cancel the booking with no (or minimal, say $25.00) charges unless you're past the final payment date (which you say you aren't).
It might be easier to stay with the first agency and use your preferred TA for your next booking.
Your best bet would be to ask the TA you like what you should do.
