Offered 25% off next cruise due to Dream being Cancelled
We were schedule to be on the Dream that was cancelled on the 16 Mar 13. They said that when we book our next cruise will get 25% off. So I booked us on the Liberty for the 7 Dec 13. I booked a oceanview at $509 PG rate. They told me the cost pp is 439. pp. Note the 25% is for the cruise price only. I don't think the price their giving me is right or am I wrong.
I hope you booked this with an agent so they can provide the exact information to you as you often can't trust the cruise line if you book directly with them.
Second, it's not unusual for a cruise line to provide a percentage off the cruise fare only. Keep in mind that the advertised rate is actually comprised of two fares; the cruise fare and the port fees, also referred to as non-commissionable fees. For example, an advertised rate may be $599, but the cruise fare may only be $439 and the port fees may be $169. So if you're offered a percentage off, it'll be a percentage off of the $439 and not the $599, and you still have to pay the $169 in full.
Hope that makes sense.

I had one like this, but not as much off. I trust my PVP completely and if I had a question I would ask.
I THINK I got the discount off the entire amount including add on taxes and fees. Your deal you say is only off the cruisefare. If I had a question, I would call up and have someone explain the discount to me, if you dont have a PVP at Carnival to call just call the toll free number. I always ask until I completely understand, but that is me. My PVP is great and never minds questions.
I would not ask on a message board, I'd just have called up and asked until I understood how they arrived at that price. I would suggest you call and ask. Perhaps they did not give you the $509 price but booked you on a higher deck than you expected to pay for. I would always ask Carnival myself and be sure if as you show, it doesnt seem to add up. CALL AND FIND OUT.
