Earlier today I received, from my travel agent, the following message issued by Princess Cruises in connection with our October 13, 2014 sailing:
Please be advised that Sea Princess has experienced technical difficulties which have resulted in our inability to operate at full speed. This in no way compromises the safety of our guests and crew which is our highest priority; however, our technical experts have determined that it is necessary to make the following changes to our itinerary.
Sea Princess will now call to Napier from 10:30 AM - 7:00 PM on October 19, Wellington from 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM on October 20, and Fiordland National Park (scenic cruising only) from 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM on October 23. The
revised itinerary displays in full at the end of this notification. Thank you for your attention to this information. We apologize for any disappointment these changes may cause and look forward to welcoming you on board Sea Princess. Thank you for your attention to this notification.
***What I find odd is that, given the 'slow speed' advisory, the adjustments are minimal and no originally planned ports are cancelled. In fact, we are even spending an extra hour in one port. Have you heard about this change? I am surprised that I can find no web news about this.
