What to do in Napier NZ & Newcastle Au?

OK . . now I've compiled quite a good list of activities for each port on our upcoming Jan 6 Mercury cruise. . . . . but am stuck on Napier NZ & Newcastle Au. Has anyone got any "must dos" to offer?

All I can say is that Napier was almost completely destroyed in the 1920's by one of NZ's largest earthquakes ever.
The city was rebuilt during the Art Deco era, so if you have an interest in architecture its a good place to visit.

It also has an aquarium.

What are you planning to do in Wellington?

I pretty much took this from the forum site. . . In Wellington we thought we'd catch the yellow circle busses & do some exploring. Will include the Te papa & marine museums, Civic Square, Lambton Harbour & Oriental Parade. Any other suggestions are welcome.

You will be able to walk to all of your choices just by sticking to the left hand side of the road as you leave the berth, then take the circular bus back towards the ship.
