Do Ipads with wifi only work as well as laptop computers while on a cruise. Not the speed which is not good, but you connect as well. Thanks

I am not sure if I follow your question - but an iPad should work about as well as a laptop on a ship (but not any faster than the network will let it work).

The iPad will be the same as your lap top as far getting a connection on board ship. You should have much better battery life, etc. with the iPad.

iPads have an e-mail application that is essentially the same as any computer e-mail software. In fact on the Rock Legends cruise while I was sitting in the Cafe Promenade each morning with my iPad, I'd download my e-mails and disconnect, and then read them.

Paul, we did 8 cruises for the year. We live in Texas. Wife retired and we rewarded oursleves with the cruises. Got emails through my yahoo account. Composed and/or read offline, went online to send or receive. Will do less this year as she is getting a hip replacement. Back again by mid year.

Have you tried talkatone? All you need is a google voice phone number and wifi. I use it on my iPad all the time. The app is free, the calls are free.
