We will be stopping in Freeport when we sail to the Bahamas. Although I've been to Nassau before and know what I want to do there, I have no idea what the best options are in Freeport. Does anybody have any ideas for people who can't do the beach thing?
Next to Port Lucaya is the Underwater Explorers Society (UNEXSO). They have an attraction called the Dolphin Experience. It's more of an up-close educational encounter with the dolphins than a swim-with-the-dolphins adventure. Advance reservations are necessary since the program is very popular. Visit <http://www.dolphinexperience.com>. UNEXSO also sponsors daily snorkeling and diving excursions.
Other activities in Freeport include golf, horseback riding, deep sea fishing, and parasailing. There are also several botanical gardens and nature centers on Grand Bahama Island. And there's always shopping at the International Bazaar or the Port Lucaya Marketplace.
