Default Atlantis is Nassau

Has anyone done Atlantis in Nassau? Is it worth seeing? How long does it take to get there from the pier? Any information would be appreciated! Thanks.

Hi Mary Lou: We just went on the Explorer of the Seas 12/02 and stopped in Nassau. The ride over to Paradise Island by water taxi is about 20 min.and cost $3.00 a
person I think. It is then a 15 min. walk to Atlantis. You can walk around and see quite a bit on your on at no cost. We spent about 1 hr.& 15 min. It's a beautiful
resort. Well worth the time to see. You can buy a pass for $25 per person to see
the rest of the resort. Enjoy. Happy Sailing. John F.

Hi John F,
We too are thinking about going over there and glad to know you thought it was worth it. Do you think its worth it to take the tour?? What all were you able to take a peek at? Thanks, we too are going on Explorer in April. Anything you can tell me about the ship etc?

Thanks,
Donnassei

Donna, the $25 charge at Atlantis would be OK if you wanted to use the beach and pool facilties. You also get to see a lot more really neat "stuff". We just did not
have enough time with our other plans in Nassau. You will love the Explorer. We had wonderful service from all personel and great food in the Dining room. It gets very crowded in the Windjammer (buffets) during peak dining hours at breakfast and lunch. Just go and have a excellent time. Happy Sailing. John F.

Thanks John,
Was wondering if for the $25.00 you could use the beach and pool facalities, nice to know we could :-) I'm sure we'll have a great time on Explorer.

I don't believe the $25 entitles you to use the pools and water slides at Atlantis. The $25 gets you a tour of the whole facility including the aquariums and the Dig.
The beach is public so they can't stop you from going there.

Atlantis is definitely the best thing to do in Nassau - whenever we go through there we always go over to Paradise Island and Atlantis. Have been all around Nassau and can't otherwise recccommend any specific place to visit.

Last time we were in Nassau we took the Yellowbird Tour to Blackbeard Island and had a great time. Great beach but limited number of beach chairs. Towels work fine though. Sandals resort abuts the beach that we used.
