Default Moped Rentals

Does anyone know if there are moped rental places in Montego Bay of Cozumel. We would love to get around that way and wondered if any of you knew.

I know they had mopeds at the pier in Cozumel, so most likely they would there too??

I'm sure they have them, but I would be VERY leery of renting one. After going to a Cozumel message board frequented by locals and people who go there often, I personally would not get on one. We rented a Chevy Tracker instead. The message board is at http://www.travelnotes.cc

Best of luck,

Where did you rent the Chevy Tracker? I think a car might be better and since there are four of us it seems it might pay off. What's your opinion. Is a snorkling tour in Cozumel better than jumping between beaches, etc.

Sue.............We took a cab into downtown (was $5.) because we didn't want to deal with the hordes of people at the dock. We went to see Freddie at Alamo downtown.........you'll see the big open area in the middle of downtown that has fountains and stuff.....walk down the side street heading away from the water and Alamo will be about 2 blocks down......not bad at all. You can get a specific address by going to the Alamo webpage. It was $45. for all day and we did get the optional $10. liability insurance. Gas is like $2. a gallon, but we didn't use all that much. The tracker will easily fit four people and your stuff. And you can either get a convertible or not....same price.

I personally would recommend snorkeling on your own instead of a ship tour. We ended up not going but I had gotten all of the info in case we did by going to a Cozumel message board at http://www.travelnotes.cc

They have tons of great info and a message board. They all said the place to go for snorkeling is Dzul Ha beach club.....it's right close to Chakanuub (sp?). If you go to the message board just don't tell them that you are a cruiser. They tend to get rather huffy because there are some rude cruisers on the island....but they will give you some great info.

If you have any more questions, I will certainly try to answer them.
