Default Sapphire beach

Anyone have any recommendation/advice on Saphhire Beach in St. Thomas? We are very interested in being able to do snorkeling off the beach, as we have young children, and will need to take turns watching the kids and snorkeling. Any suggestions? How does Sapphire compare to Trunk Bay in St. John? We thought it would be faster to go Sapphire (without ferry and additional cab ride). Thanks for any advice!

If you want to snorkel right off the beach in St. Thomas, go to Coki Beach. They rent equipment and there are a lot of fish to be seen right off the beach.

We also went to Coki Beach in April 2001. They rent equipment to you right there. When you get off the ship many van drivers are right there to take you to anywhere you want to go. Ask them to take you to Coki Beach. Then let them know what time to pick you up to go back to the ship and they will be there for your return to the ship. Coki Beach had lots of colorful fish. They gave you dog biscuits to feed the fish if you rented equipment. The fish ate them right out of your hand. Be sure to bring a underwater camera along. Buy it here before you leave. Nice disposables cost 10-12 dollars. There is a bar right on the beach that makes some wonderful fruity drinks with or without alcohol. Try the one called Island Girl. Yummy!
