Default Time change in Cozumel

My son and I are going on a back to back eastern/western cruise on the Century in August. We were worried about one of our excursions in Cozumel because Century has changed the arrival time from 8 AM to 9:45 AM. When I wrote to the excursion company, they assured me that ship time and island time are not the same. What exactly is the time difference??

It's CST on Coz during the winter. I am not sure about summer, whether they use DST or not.

Last time we were there, the ship's clocks were not reset to local time, causing a few close calls returning from freelance shore excursions.

I'd check with the ShoreEx desk on this one.

Thanks Pamda,

We are not worried about returning to the ship, but about missing our excursion to start with. Originally we were not concerned because we were going to be docking 2 hours before our excursion starts. Then Celebrity changed arrival time to 9:45! Our excursion is at 10! But if the island time is an hour earlier, we will be fine.

We just got back from the Grand Princesses Western cruise. We stayed on Florida time until we got to Cozumel where we went back one hour. At every port we were told, if need be, what time to set our clocks/watches to so it matched the port. And of course we went back to Florida time once we left Playa del Carmen.
