We will be sailling the RCCL - SOS on 11/3 from Port Canaveral. We will be traveling with our sister and brother in law, who has never cruised before. We have been to Nassau once before on Carnival. Looking for ideas for that day in port, that is relaxing and "uncrowded" and not real expensive. Last time, we did the Straw Market and went to Pleasure Island beach (think that was the name of it). ...but it was so crowded....spring break time though.
Any ideas would be great. Really looking to kick back and relax on this trip.
If you haven't already seen Atlantis in Paradise island, that is worth going to look at. You can go with a ship tour or take a water taxi, or regular taxi over there. The place is just amazing, something to see. Went to the straw market once, and that was enough for me, but you can also walk around town too. Have Fun.
You might enjoy a day at Blue Lagoon. It has all types of water craft rentals and food. You can make a whole day out of it if you like to do the beach thing. It probably won't be too crowded in November.
I second the Blue Lagoon Island suggestion. I will be on the Fascination next weekend, and my first shore excursion will be Blue Lagoon. Just plan on "kicking back" and enjoying a relaxing day on the sands and sea!
We went to Nassau this past March. We enjoyed a trip over to Balckbeards Cove Beach. It was beautiful and very relaxing. It's a liitle island paradise. There were plenty of beach chairs, and they have a little place that sells hamburgers and hotdogs as well as a gift shop. You might want to check this out.
Time is always a factor but I would suggest a taxi to the restaurant called the Poop Deck on the mainland side of the bridge for the best conch chowder and grouper fingers anywhere. Then taxi over to Paradise island and take in all the sights, including Atlantis. For a nice pm drink on the water try the Sheraton on Paradise. Enjoy
Can you advise on the location of the beach and describe the facilities a little more, JPMary Martin wrote:
