On January 2, 2002, we will call at Ocho Rios, Jamaica with the "Voyager of the Seas". I have been there 2 years ago with the "Carnival Destiny". Then, I took the organized tour to "Fern Gully" and "Dunn's River Falls" and on of the shopping malls. Since I don't care for shopping, I thought, this time I might try an independent tour operator or just hire a cab. However, since I experienced, how pushy the locals can be, I'm a bit reluctant.
Could someone recommend an independent tour operator, which might be a bit less expensive than the ship's tour, but still offers good service? Since I liked the excursion drive through the fern gully, I would like to combine this again with Dunn's River Falls, just leave the shopping trip aside.
I hear Peat Taylor is the best - his names come up all the time.

Definitely do Peat Taylor; he was wonderful! He'll combine different groups on his bus, but will take you shopping or the beach or the ship the last hour. He even sings, and is very friendly and informative.
