Default Snakes in Dunns River Falls

I heard that there is snakes in Dunns River Falls. Someone told they know someone that saw one in the marshy grass as they were walking up.
Does anyone know if this is true?

Thanks

Hi Mel,
I sure didn't see any snakes??? Guess its always possible, but remember when you are going up the falls, you are in the water, wouldn't worry too much about encountering snakes, its the locals at the end of the climb you need to be firm with though, enjoy the falls, they are a lot of fun. Just remember to wear some water shoes or some old tennis shoes, the rocks can be slippery, have fun!

Hi -

My husband and I climbed Dunn River falls and we did not see any snakes. Our tour guide did not warn us of any either....I don't know if that was an over sight on his part, but the only thing we worried about was the cold water and making it up the falls!!!!
You'll have fun and good luck!!!

Hi Mel

There are no snakes in Dunns River Falls unless you count the 2 legged ones ( just kidding)! I am from Jamaica. I ve climbed or screamed my way to the top, no snakes.
As everyoone mentioned be careful, rocks are slippery. Also if you hold hands make sure you do so with someone of a proportionate weight. I am on the small side and held hands with someone much larger. Got difficult because at times you have to hoist
the other person. Have Fun!

There are no snakes at Dunns River Falls. The ONLY referance I have ever heard about snakes is that the line of people holding hands 'snakes' up the falls.

Thanks everyone. That makes me feel better. I like your comment Lady about the "2 legged ones" I'm sure there are some of those out there. I will try to get up the falls some and if I can't I'll take the stairs.

I have climbed it 3 times and never seen a snake... lots of leaves and twigs, but no snakes.
