Finding an Economic Hotel in the Miami Port Area - Nov 2002
I am travelling on the Mercury on 1 November 2002 and am looking to stay at the Holiday Inn International N at Miami Airport as it is giving out a reasonable rate at the moment for the dates that I need to stay. Also it has a shuttle to and from the airport plus a shuttle service to the port.
Has anyone else stayed there or do you have any advice about staying in Miami?

I am sailing on the Explorer 11-02-02 and booked a room at the Best Western Marina Park hotel for 3 adults and a 7 month old for 79.00 a nite. We have a bayview room so we can watch the Explorer sail in on Sat. a.m. It is the closest hotel to the port of Miami! Not a 5 star hotel but the location and price make the hotel very appealing!

I learned that the best way to get a decent hotel and save money in long run is to first, research on "biddingfortravel", which is all about the hotels offered by Priceline, along with prices that are being accepted. you choose your location when you go on Priceline--the hotel will be revealed after the bid is accepted. I read reviews of the Miami Downtown hotels, and so I bid.
I got the Hyatt Regency Downtown Miami for $28 a night. Judging by the fine reviews, you can't beat this!

I agree with Carol. I did the same thing and got a room at the Hyatt as well. I did not get as good a deal as Carol, I am going during Sping Break so I bid $55. I might have gotten it for a few dollars cheaper but who would complain about the Hyatt for $55?
