Default Shells

My wife and I are sailing on the Inspiration the latter part of October for our 20th anniversary.....We are huge shell collectors. We will be visiting Montego Bay, Grand Cayman, and Cozumel. The question is.....are there any beaches to go and find shells??? Thanks in advance!!!!!!!

I know nothing about shells but we may be on the same cruise. Going on the inspiration on 10-27 for the halloween cruise. E mail me and let me know. My husband sister and boyfriend are all booked and going to have a great time.

If the hurricane has touched down near any of the Islands you will find lots of shells, last year I brought bags of shells home, no my hubby was not pleased as they were heavy, in fact a few days I had some soaking in listerine to kill anythin in them before I brought them home. I think you just might be lucky.

What a GREAT idea, soaking in Listerine! I've never heard of that. I always used bleach. A much better smell than bleach. Thanks for the tip.

What an interesting question! I have lots of extra shells in a bag from years of collecting. If I knew you, I could give you some!!!(lol)

Like someone said...depending on the ocean activity...you can find or not find them. If you find interesting big shells or starfish (if you are really lucky), have the crew clean them. Before you take them home, make sure they don't SMELL! I have left lots of goodies behind because we couldn't get rid of the stench!!!

We found a huge shell in Princess Cays and I had hubby tote it home in carry on. He wasn't thrilled. Well It has since been donated to our daughter's kindergarten class. They were having Ocean month and teacher thought it was great. I figure the kid's could use it more then me. I will leave shells behind next time.....I'll buy gold instead.....
