Hi Bill and Pam,
Yes, we did that and had a wonderful time, you learn a lot of sailing tips, plus you are in an actual race. I would recommend it, and do sign up early, they do fill up fast, they only have so many boats. You can pick a more or less active job, so its up to you, I did the job of a main grinder and it was some work involved, but it was worth it, we WON!

Question for you: we will be there the day before our wedding in St John. I'd hate for something to happen - get slapped in the face, hurt a hand on a rope, etc. Is there any danger of that? I read somewhere that you are actually part of the crew, but do not want to have any physical evidence of that the next day at my wedding! Can I still participate and be okay? (Yes, I'm am over-cautious... but only on the days preceding the wedding!!!)

Hi Mandy,
I guess there could always be a chance of injury, or for me I was a little sore the following day from the effort. In that case you can take a job less active, cheerleader, bar maid, etc. Its still great fun and worth it!

Hey Bill,

We'll be on the Spirit at the same time and have heard nothing but good comments about the America's Cup Regatta as long as there is wind. If no wind-no fun.
Hope to see you there!!
