Can anyone tell me if you travel with Carnival and you go to Atlantis is access to the beach included? The carnival website say's "pool area is not included," but it say's nothing about the beaches. One article on the home page of "cruise mates" that I read on Nassau stated if you traveled Royal Caribbean or Disney they had special arrangements and shore tours included towels from the resort and access to the beach, but any other cruise line passenger that wanted access to the beach would need to pay 25 for the day (is that per person)? I want our family to do this tour, but I thought it would be nice to spend the day on the beach after then take the ferry back since they head out every 1/2 hour? Does anyone know if the beach is an extra charge for Carnival passengers?
as far as i know, unless the tour specifies, use of the beach, then it is not included. You really don't need to purchase a tour for Nassau, all you need to do is hop into a cab or water taxi over to Paradise Island, Atlantis is a great place to just wander around. The Dig(aquarium) is really neat. Yes there is a charge to use the beach facility at Atlantis-($25pp) sounds about right, there are a few really nice beaches near Atlantis that are much cheaper.
I know someone who took their ship's excursion to Atlantis. It was very expensive and they had to use a particular section of the beach which was quite a hike from where they entered the property. I think you are better off finding another area of Paradise Island to spend the day. The folks running the water taxis should be able to give you an idea.
