Margaritaville in Montego Bay

Our ship in makes a call at Montego Bay. We have heard numerous times to 'be careful in Jamaica'. Therefore, we thought we might limit ourselves to a trip to Magaritaville .

Is Margaritaville ok for a ten-year-old? (We will be there in the middle of the day).

Any other thoughts about the Montego Bay area would be welcome.

i would book a ships tour to Dunns River Falls - do it by Catamaran, avoid the "booze cruises" You and your 10yr old will have a great time, enjoying the boat trip, some swimming and climbing the falls. Jamacia has gotten a bad reputation over the years, which is too bad because its such a beautiful island. The main problem is panhandlers and pick-pockets. Just travel smart and you will have no problem.
