Better shopping... Cozumel or Playa Del Carmen

I will be in both ports. Which has the better shopping? Any tips?

We were in Cozumel this past March, and found the shopping to be great....there are many new shops with of course the same t shirts and stuff, but thats what I like to buy. If you want jewely there are many shops....but I did not go in them. Also Carlos and Charlies is a must to go to! And also went into a drug store, its amazing the stuff they sell over the counter that you need a perscription for here.

Keep in mind... the ferry ride to and from Playa can be rough. In realit y, Playa is turning to as much a tourist "trap" as Cozumel. I wouldn't make a special trip just for shopping.
