After browsing RCL's shore excursions on Curacao, none look all that exciting. So, we were thinking shopping. I've read the shopping is best on St. Thomas, but there seems so much more to do on that island. Any comments on shopping in Curacao? Any don't miss sights?
Curacao is a great little island, its very clean, but hot. Consider going to the seaquarium and beach- very pretty. We did a submarine tour that was neat. The shopping on the main street is mostly from local crafts people and artisans,- some really nice things.
I highly recommend walking across the bridge into town. The buildings along the waterfront are very picturesque and colorful. Any beach along Seaquarium is nice, espeically the Princess Hotel area.
Snorkeling and diving on Curacao are tops. The coral formations haven't been damaged as much as other "over-touristed" areas. This is also highly recommended.
I agree with LisaK, this is a great little island to get out and see. Shopping will be better on St. Thomas, but you should be able to find some nice mahogany pieces here, similar to Aruba, only cheaper.
Yes, Curacao is a very friendly town, locals will leave you alone, unlike some other stops. Definitely take a walk around, check out the fruit/vegtable mart. They do have some vendors by the pier that sell the usual touristy stuff too if you miss them in town.
