From what I have been hearing Sapphire Beach is a good spot to start of f the day in St, Thomas. We will be aboard the Carnival Legend from 9/10-9/18 and be in St. Thomas on Saturday for 12 hours. Does Sapphire Beach let cruisers use all of their facilities and how much do they charge for the usage.
I don't recall paying a fee, but I've been to so many places there the small details start to blur. Sapphire is a great little beach and snorkeling area. The cost, if any, will be nominal I'm sure. Other great snorkeling beaches in the area are Secret Harbor and Coki, neither charge a fee. For strictly a great beach, Magens is awefully nice (small fee, couple bucks or so)
There is a hotel on Saphire beach, but the Beach is public. There are facilities and folks who will rent you a chair and umbrellas etc. Same for Coki Beach. I find either to be a very nice alternative to the beautiful but sometimes crowded Maegens Bay and unlike Maegens Bay neither have the admission fee which is now $3 or $4 per person.
