Default Dolphin Encounter

Dolphin Encounter in the Bahamas...worth it? Going on the Dawn in april and that's one of shore excursion options.

We did the "encounter" last September. It's probably not worth it unless you have little ones back at home (or with you) to share the pictures and experience with. The dolphin "handlers" are 80% comedian and 20% trainer, but you do get to touch, feel, get your picture taken with, and play with the dolphins (all while on a waist-deep platform); note that swimming with the dolphins costs extra. For the same time and effort, you could just as well take a catamaran trip out to the reef and do some unsupervised snorkling, and kick back on the boat ride back....

We did the Dolphin Encounter at Nassau last November and thought it was fantastic. We purchased the video they made and shared the experience with family and friends. I would highly recommend it.
