Can anyone tell me anything about the water taxis in St. Lucia? Like where can you catch them, where all do they go? We thought perhaps they might be a scenic way to get around to some of the places we are interested in (like Anse Chastenet, Souffiere, passing the pitons at all?), and we could maybe combine them w/cabs. Also prices, websites, timetables, anything at all? Thanks!
Re: Need info. on water taxi in St. Lucia, please!
Don't think they will be much help in getting you too far. They seem to run continually between the docking area and the main town. They are wonderful little launches - very quaint and cute, but I think their main purpose is in-town transportation.
I believe it's $2.00 to go from the port area to the town - maybe an 8 minute ride - fun to look at the huge ships from this little "bug".
They might wander futher about but not sure.
One interesting thing in St. Lucia is to watch the planes take off and land from what appears to be a VERY short runway! Watching from the ship it looks like they're never going to make it, but they always do - make a sharp left turn after takeoff.
