Default Cozumel snorkeling

We just booked a snorkeling excursion through Sotos for stingray city in GC for only 19$. Does anyone know of any similar GREAT deals like this for Cozumel or Costa Maya? We really wanted to do some good water excursions, but want to get the best deals away from the tourist traps. We want to see a lot of fish and get into some of the better diving activities. Thanks for any help....counting down the few last days....WHOO HOO

there is some amazing snorkeling on Cozumel - you have to travel a ways by boat to get there. We loved the Palencaar Reef for snorkeling. I would suggest you book this one with the cruise line, spend a little more for the peace of mind that if something goes wrong, the ship will wait for you.

We didn't buy an excursion from the ship when we were in Cozumel. Instead, we did the Dolphin Experience which we booked before we left and it was great. A dream of my 14 year olds. Anyway, the operator is in the park at Chankanab, so since we had to pay a $10 enterance fee, we decided to go early and make a day of it. The beach was clean, no one selling trinkets and a decent resturant was available. There is a small trail to view replicas of ruins and many types of lizards and colorful parots. There were nice shade palms to rest under with many lounge chairs on the beach and easy access to the water via stone steps. The snorkeling was good and we saw many variaties of fish including a Baracudda (spelling?). Since it was only the 2nd time there, I don't have much to compare it to, but I enjoyed several hours of snorkeling and wasn't disappointed. When we were there, there wasn't any type of a "party" scene, just relaxing beach and ocean time. Have fun!!
