we did playa sol. dont know about paradise. lots to do at playa sol, especially with a 2 yr old. activites on land for kids, water toys, sand to dig in, playground, pool. it cost $10 for the basic pkg, food for 3 ran $25.
Just got back today. We went to Playa del sol. The taxi was $14, the basic package was $10. My 2 boys (12 and15) loved the water trampoline. They had trouble with the iceberg, but our friends boys went up without a problem. The snorkeling was OK- good for beginners. They had kayaks, paddleboats and sailboats included in the basic price. We had a great time there. Lots of free chairs to sit in, although we tipped the guy for wiping off our chairs (there were 12 of us together!) We didn't eat, we waited til we got back on ship and we brought our own water bottles, although my friend saw a sign that said their water was purified there. She bought a Pepsi for $2 in a bottle. The only drawback is having to walk through the market area where they hound you to death to buy something, but that is probably at all the beaches. Don't know about the other beach, but we were pleased with SOL!
We went to Paradise Beach 12-6-03. Had a great time. Free admission, chairs, water float mats and water climbing mountain. The bathrooms and showers were VERY CLEAN. There ae shopping vendors next door. There is also a massage tent available. We wanted to go parasailing and they got a boat to come get us. They had a bucket (5) of Dos Equis for $11.00 (US). We had a great time and are planning on going back this December when we cruise on the Grand Princess.
Oh, I forgot, Paradise Beach also has a happy hour (2 for 1) on mixed drinks and buckets of beer from 4-6 PM. There was also a band and dance floor. They had only been open about 2 months when we were there and I'm pretty sure it is owned by an American. Hope this info helps.
