Looking at booking a tour to Stringray City (not through the cruiseline) in Grand Cayman for a group. Has anyone heard of or used Stingray City Charters, Charter Boat Headquarters, or Cruise Ship Terminal? I want to make sure we get a reputable company. We have heard of Captain Marvins, Sotos, and Captain Bryans, but they are a little more expensive. Any recommendations?
Ruth,
I'm looking into the same trip at present and having looked it seems that Cruise Ship Terminal are reasonably priced. Will await other comments with interest.

We went with Snorkeler's Dream Catamaran and it was awesome!!!! $34 for us and $20 for the kids and we snorkeled at 3 different location and the catamaran and crew were great. We booked them on www.grandcaymancruiseexcursions.com
I've heard good things about Captain Bryan and Captain Marvin but I've never heard of the other three you mentioned, either they are new or not very popular. I'd stick with one of the known ones as they have reviews all over the place and you know you'll get a good trip.
We also used Snorklers Dream on 12/11/03 and had a great time! The crew was great, only 18 people on the boat. The day was awesome. My 9 yr old loved the catamaran as much as the snorkeling and stingrays!

You can also just join up with an excursion when you get to the dock. There are people walking around holding (or wearing) signs for different tours. You will need at least 4 hours for the stingray city/snorkling excursion, so talk to the tour operators to see who meets your schedule. Between the excursion and waiting around, we didn't get to see very much else in Grand Cayman, but the stingrays were worth it.

Thanks- it wsure make it easier when you have the correct web address.
This will make today better as we are in the middle of a snow storm and 20 cm of
snow expected.
My husband booked with Sotos in November and really enjoyed it. It was only $19 for three hours, and three snorkeling stops. He met the guide across the street from the tender docks. And it wasn't too crowded - I think about 20 people on the boat. The guides lured an eel out of it's hiding place at one stop, and my hubby got great underwater photos. They (the guides) also fed a nurse shark and turned it over on it's back to rub it's belly. And then they helped everyone hold and pet the rays at sting ray city. He would highly recommend Sotos.

We used Captain Marvin and loved it. Have heard good things about Cpt. Bryan, Nativeways and Sotos. haven't heard anything on the ones you mentioned, sorry.
We have booked with Snorkler's Dream ( a 47 ft catamaran sold me). We cruise Sunday on Costa Mediterranea. I will be sure to let you know how it goes. Made all the arrangements on=line and have had great communication with them. All looks good so far. :o)
