Donna, I also have seen this and I am somewhat concerned. My wife and I are sailing on the Serenade in March. We both have passports but I would think a large number of the already booked passengers would not. How would RCCL handle this. Would our itinerary change to another port or to another day at sea. As far as I am concerned that would be fine. I only would like to know so I could research shore excursions if it is to be another port.
Yes, you did bring up a good point. I just hope the cruiselines do notify everyone concerned and that all the travel agents out there get the word out. I think if I were a travel agent, I'd recommend everyone to apply and get a passport. Today its Barbados, who knows about tomorrow, some day we'll need them for all the Caribbean islands??
I just checked the URL you provided and passports aren't required until 3-1-04, so there is still some time for passengers to get their passports. Let's just hope the cruiseline notifies everyone on those crusies.
Yes, you should be able to get passports in time. Mine took about 10 days, but remember to bring along 2 passport size pics and your birthcirtificates. They BC's will be returned along with the passports.
