Re: Re: What are the best shore excursions in Puerto Limon,
I'm going in March. I'll be sailing on the Norwegian Crown. It's a repositioning cruise from Valparaiso, Chile to Miami. We visit several ports in Chile, Peru, continue to Puerto Limon, and Grand Cayman.
Chuck, thanks for your suggestion. I've read several positive posts on the banana packing plant.
Re: What are the best shore excursions in Puerto Limon, Cost
We were at Limon last April. We decided to take anindependent tour which we purchased right at the dock. The company was located under a tent canopy with posted prices for each destination. We choose the number one rated tour Tortugero Canal tour, which included many stops for photo opportunities - Playa Bonita, Dole Banana Plantation walking tour, stop to see up close monkeys & 3 toed sloths plus native fruits and floral items, the boat tour and our guide even took us to a local supermarket that I requested. Price was $45 per couple. We shared his car with another couple we met on line & on board ship. It was a great way to spend the day and see this country. Please do not wander off outside the gated area alone. Crime against tourists does exist. We had a wonderful day and felt very safe with Bert.
