Default Oct Cruisng

We are going on the new Mariner of the Seas (RCCL) out of Port Canaveral to the E. Caribbean. (Found a terrific rate of $509.pp, including port taxes) at www.mycruise.org. We will be sailing on Oct. 31. Any good tours for Nassau? Also, we want some good shopping down in BVI. Which is better St. Thomas or St. Marteen as far as shopping for jewelry? Thanks

St. Thomas and St Martin are the two shopping capitals of the Caribbean and each has it's following. Both are excellent places to shop. The most important thing is to know in advance what the item you are looking for would cost back home and to be knowledgeable enough to know you are getting what you pay for.
Gram prefers the shops of St Thomas and usually sticks to the bigger names such as Columbian Emeralds, Cardows , AH Reise, Little Switzerland and Diamonds International.
I know many folks who would make the arguement for St Martin.
Your post mentions something about the BVI. Shopping is not the highpoint of any of the port stops or islands you may visit in the BVI"S . Neither Tortola, Virgin Gorda or Jost Van Dyke are known for their shopping.
I Nassau most people head one way or another for beaches or gambling or touring Atlantis (all on Paradise Island). Personally I would go to the beach out at Cable Beach and just relax for the day.
Enjoy your cruise.

There is a Columbian Emeralds in Road Town Tortola, plus Pussers store & some local shops with small art & spices....away from Tourist area got some nice clothes.. There are also usual tourist type flea markets set up--beauty of Tortola is in the hills & at the beaches!

For Nassau if you are interested, you can take a ferry from nassau(its not too far from the Big Market) over to Blue Lagoon. There is alot of water activities such as swim w/dolphins and etc.
