What a good idea to go to Sandals, the one I went to last April cost 25$ for taxi and 45$ for all inclusive. The ride is about 30 minutes but it worth to spend a very relaxing day.Have a nice cruise. Mateli from Quebec City, Canada
I highly recommend it. It is clean, the staff is friendly, the beach is beautiful. There are a lot of lawn chairs, they have jerk chicken for lunch and there is chair side bar service. It's only draw back is that the swimming area is very shallow--which may be excellent for kids.
It's obvious they are set up to handle a large crowd, so they must have them. But we were practically the only ones on the beach.
At least I hope it is still nice, we there there in February 2003.
Also check into the history of Ms. Rose Hall. It's very interesting.
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Montego Bay - taxi to Sandals???
Yes, we took a taxi. The Montego Bay Terminal has a really well-organized taxi 'stand'.
They have a large area with a line of taxis. There is a large wood sign with a map of the island on it and dispatchers standing around helping you decide where you want to go. They then hail a taxi for you. The rates are standardized. It is a recent set up because the last times we were there, you were pretty much on your own. We noticed in 2003, that many of the islands are doing a lot better job of getting people around than in previous years. We've been there in 1990, 1993 and 1995.
Rose Hall Beach Club is only a few minutes outside of downtown Mo Bay. Don't remember what we paid.
Also, with five in your group, they will have a van of some sort. There were six in our group in 2003 and we all taxi-ed together.
Anyone that has been to Rose Hall Beach Club in Montego Bay, could you please respond if it is difficult to get a taxi back to the ship? Is there a taxi stand there? What is the entrance fee to the beach club?
