My wife and I were thinking of saving some money and do our own shore snorkeling from Dzul Ha. I've seen a lot of recommendations for taking a tour to Palencar Reef though. Any suggestions?
Dzul Ha has very good snorkeling. Seems like there is a little beach bar there, and I think they either want you to give them a few dollars to use their facilities there to enter the water, or promise to buy a few Coronas after your swim.
I've heard good things too about snorkel trips to Palancar, although every time I've visited there I'm always about 60 feet UNDER the water.
You can't go wrong either way. Why not rent a car and snorkel your way around the island?
we snorkled the Palencaar Reef and thought it was beautiful. You should book a ships tour on this one, you have to travel by boat to get to the reef and you never know......
The snorkeling is easy, the current gently pushes you along. The water is crystal clear so you can see tons of marine life.
