Default going to Nassau with (hopefully) more than my carry on bag

In the last two days I have been thinking of our cruise last fall. We took a bus from Baltimore to NYC and went from there. This fall we are flying down to Miami and my biggest thought was, will my luggage make it down with me or go to New Zealand? Has anyone had to do a cruise with just their carry on luggage? What did you put in it that was most necessary? My medicine will go in it.............but what else?

I have heard about people sending there luggage ahead of them via FedEx or UPS. We are thinking of doing the same.

Ive never had a problem, knock on wood. You might want to carry on your meds, tolietries, swim suit, sleepwear, extra shoes, and anything valuable. You can always purchase clothing, though Im sure most people wouldnt want to spend money on it. Sometimes the ship will give you a few tee shirts (big deal right).

We went last year (a family of six) and only had carry on luggage. It can be done! We each brought 3-4 pair of shorts, 4-5 t shirts, 2 swim suits, black skirt for the girls, black pants for the boys, a couple of dress shirts, 1 pr sandals, 1 pair sneakers, 1 pr dress shoes, 1 pr water shoes and two formal outfits, along with enough underclothing for a week. There is self serve laundry on board so if you run out of clothes (and we didnt) you can do some if you have to. We packed everything in zip lock bags and forced all the air out. It's amazing how much space you have in your luggage when you do this. Packed an empty backpack in each one of the kids suitcases for souvenirs to bring home.

knock on wood we have not had a problem. We try to get a direct flight. If we can't get a direct flight we check our bags all the way through.
Pack a complete change of clothes, bathing suit, medications, basic tolietries and jewlery in your carry-on.
You would be limited to 2 carry-ons each person on the airplane. You could get the big ones on wheels, just make sure they small enough to fit through the scanners. Check your airlines website it will give you the dimensions of how big of a carry-on you may bring.

Your only allowed one carry on and one personal bag(purse, laptop bag, camera bag, etc) on the airplane. They wont let you threw security with to many bags. They made me put my purse in carryon on one flight, because i had my camera bag out. Said I had to many bags.
