Its an amazing trip, the scenery is beautiful, the trip very relaxing. You have a padded seat on these long bamboo rafts, you have a guide who gently poles your raft down the river- we loved it and would do it again.

We did it a few years ago. Nothing like it, especially for Jamaica where the people can ge very aggressive.

we would do it again.

We did it and loved it! The guide is very knowledgable about the flora and flauna and goes out of his way to please you hoping for a better tip. Ours pulled up to shore and went to pick some flowers for me.

i was told that some days they dont even get a chance to take one couple down river and they have to build their own rafts --our guide was very nice and informative --toward the end of the ride he took out of his napsack some gourds that he tried to sell us in a very low key manner-- we said no thanks and he put them away --we most likely overtipped him when we gave him 20.00

LeiLoni,

HATE TO BE A "WET BLANKET" BUT WE DID NOT ENJOY "Martha Brea Rafting"!!!!!!!!!!!!

There was actually very little time rafting (30 minutes) -- mostly, it was going to and fro on a bus with a driver who must have been trained in Cozumel. WOW! The lack of time on the bamboo raft vs the time we spend makes it one we can NOT recommend.

(Note: Our guide said because the way the "river was running" he sometimes could only make the rafting last 10 minutes which really make folks bad. He said 30 minutes was normal.)

Normally, we like our shore excursions. THIS ONE we did NOT enjoy!!!!

Have Fun! WSEA

We tipped $20.00 too. That was probably high, but he did such a good job and we enjoyed it so much. We were on the water for more like an hour I think.
